What is the initial investment?
To purchase a franchise it is dependable on the territory. The Initial Investment includes a Territory Fee that is paid to Hotondo Homes to secure your exclusive Franchise Territory, a Marketing Fund contribution and working capital for the set up of a Sales Office and initial operating expenses The business premises could be a shop front or a Display home depending on the location and requirements.
These costs vary depending on the area and type of business structure you set up which we will discuss with you in detail on enquiry.
What ongoing fees need to be paid?
You will pay a 1.5% Royalty and 1.5% Marketing Levy per build.
In addition you will pay a monthly administration fee that covers your conference attendance and some other costs required in your business.
Do I need a builders license?
Yes, it is a requirement of joining the franchise.
Do we get a Territory when you join Hotondo Homes?
Yes,you will have an exclusive territory. No other Hotondo Homes Builder can build in your territory and all sales leads that come in for your territory are given to you.
What experience is required to join?
A Builders license is required and proven building experience is a must. The other skills that are required can be employed. Every Franchise needs a good sales person, Estimator and Bookkeeper in addition to a builder. We can assist with recruiting the right people into your business to ensure success.
Is Training provided?
Yes we have a great training program that will ensure that you have a great business start up. You will have a combination of onsite training, Training at The Support Office and phone support for a period of 3 – 6 months depending on how quickly your business gets moving.
You have a dedicated support person in addition to your business coach to get you going and successful as fast as we can.
Am I required to work in the business full time?
How much you work in your business will be a good indicator of how successful it will be. Overtime you will be able to back off from your business and work in it as much or as little as you would like.
If I have my own work can I do that separate to my Hotondo Homes Business?
No, once you become a Hotondo Homes Franchisee all your work will come under the one banner and the one trading name of Hotondo Homes (AREA).
Do I have to build only Hotondo Home Designs?
No, you can build Hotondo Home designs, make modifications to our designs or you can build custom design, commercial and unit developments.
Can we set up in a partnership?
Yes, but we would have to approve both directors for the franchise.
Do I have to have a place of business?
Yes, you need a business premise whether this is a Shop Front or a Display home. The right type of premises will be determined once you join the franchise and we identify the needs of the market.
What staff are compulsory when setting up a Hotondo Homes business?
All businesses need a Builder, Estimator, Book Keeper and a Salesperson. Every business must have a dedicated Salesperson to ensure the success of the business. If you are skilled at any of the positions listed above then you could take on that role and employ other people for the others.
How long will it take to set up?
It can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to 6 months to set up if we need to identify a business premises location. If you are an established business that just requires rebranding then this will only take a short period of time.
You can expect 2 weeks- 6 months. If building a Display home then this could take longer.
What kind of return can I expect from the Franchise?
Every business is different so we recommend that you speak with our franchisees to talk about their success once you have proceeded past application.
This is dependable on where you set up your business ,whether it is regional or metropolitan will make a substantial difference to the number of homes you will sell and the profit margins you place on each home.
